Christmas in Cooperville
“This Christmas Henry would begin to learn about loyalty and sacrifice and what it means to be a real friend to someone. This Christmas Henry would learn about choices and the consequences of those choices.”
On one cold Colorado Christmas Eve our family was returning home from an evening spent with extended family when my young children began to complain that they didn’t have as many presents under out tree as their cousins had under their tree. The complaining was contagious spreading through all five children.
Shortly after arriving home, I sat them all down and told them a story, a story that 30 years later would become Christmas in Cooperville.
